Rebecca Morrice (born 1971) became a professor at Slippery Rock University (SRU) in 1997. As a member and chair of the Theatre Department, Morrice became a costume designer and worked behind-the-scenes on countless university productions. She earned her B.A. in Art History from the University of Illinois, Chicago and her M.F.A. in Costume Design from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Morrice has taken students to regional festivals, as well as Edinburgh, Scotland, and the Kennedy Center, to perform and compete with theatre professionals.
During her time at SRU, Morrice saw her department enrollment nearly triple in size. She served on numerous university committees, including leadership roles on the University Curriculum Committee and the Middle States Accreditation Committee, and an internal Theatre Department committee to design their new BFA program. She is also a proud member of APSCUF.
