Paper Formatting
- The ACS Style Guide does not specify how a paper should be formatted.
- In general, these guidelines are considered good practice.
- Be sure to follow your instructor's directions on how to format your paper.
Margins
- Page margins should be set 1 inch all around.
Font
- For the body of the paper, use Times New Roman 12.
- For chemical structures, tables, and other elements refer to the style guide.
Double-Space
- The paper, including quotations, notes, and the list of works cited should be double-spaced.
- Leave one space after a period or other concluding punctuation mark, unless you are told by your instructor to leave two spaces.
