What about books in the Bailey Library collection(s)?

Follow these steps for obtaining books from the Bailey Library collection(s):

•    In the library Discovery Search system, select the title you want (make sure you are signed in with SRU credentials)
•    In the Request Options box, click on “Place on Hold”.
•    In next box, provide a “Not Needed After” date, and then in the “Comment” section, please state “Home delivery for 100% Distance Learner” and put in the residential address for the requested item. Remember the library cannot ship to P.O. Box addresses.
•    You will receive two emails: The first email will let you know the book has been pulled and is at the Circulation Desk. Since you are requesting home delivery, you will receive another email when the item has been checked out to you and shipped. Follow all the same procedure detailed below for returning the borrowed item(s).

How do 100% distance learners receive requested book(s)?

Follow these guidelines if you are a 100% Distance Learner, or a Doctoral Student:

•    Items can be borrowed by submitting ILL requests and they will be shipped to your home, at no cost to you.
•    In ILLiad, on the request form "Notes" field, state you are a “100% Distance Learner” AND include the full address where the item is to be shipped (must include a street address—no P.O. box numbers.)
•    There is a limit of 3 books per user at one time.
•    A pre-paid return UPS address label will be included so you can ship back to the library.
•    Keep the box and packaging to make the return easy.

Returning books back to Bailey Library

•    Use the original box and packaging for the return.
•    All books that came in the original shipment must be returned at the same time using the return UPS address label that was sent to you.
•    Affix the return address label over top of the old label. Seal the package properly. Drop the box off at a UPS store or call UPS for pick up at your home.

Protocol for lost or late returns

•    If the book is late, fines/fees could be due.
•    If the item is lost or damaged while in your possession, you are responsible for the replacement cost of the book plus a $25 processing fee.
