Allison Brungard - STEM Librarian

Allison Brungard is the STEM librarian and the library’s assessment coordinator.  Allison is an Assistant Professor and teaches information literacy courses.  She was recently appointed to the Association of College and Research Libraries’ Science and Technology Section's Information Literacy Committee. She has more than 20 years of experience in academic libraries. Allison co-authored “Information literacy in science writing: How students find, identify, and use scientific literature” in the International Journal of Science Teaching. She has presented nationally and authored several works emphasizing the importance of critical thinking and scientific literacy in today’s digital landscape. Her research interests also include sustainability and environmental issues.

Rocco Cremonese - Business, Outreach, and User Experience Librarian

Rocco has been the Business Librarian at Slippery Rock University since the Fall of 2014. His research interests include Open Education Textbooks and student success. He is a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania and has been associated with Slippery Rock University for 14 years (6 as student, 8 as a faculty member). He is currently pursuing an Ed. D. at Slippery Rock University.

Dr. Heather Getsay - Social Sciences & Government Information Librarian / Resource Acquisitions Librarian

Dr. Heather Getsay is an Associate Professor in the Library Department. She serves as Resource Acquisitions Librarian and subject liaison for the departments of Criminology & Criminal Justice, Homeland/Corporate Security, Social Sciences, and Social Work. She also serves as Government Information Librarian and coordinator for Bailey Library’s participation in the Federal Depository Library Program, and as the library’s subject specialist for copyright information. Her research interests include standardization of usage data for electronic resources, government information, academic library acquisitions and collections, and copyright.

Dr. Jessica Jordan - Education Librarian

Jessica has been the Education Librarian at Slippery Rock University since the Fall of 2012. Her passion for education stems from holding a K-6 Elementary Education teaching certificate and her years as a classroom teacher as well as a substitute teacher in various school districts.  Jessica's research interests include the field of Special Education and its relation to libraries, primarily school libraries.

Dr. Judy Silva - Fine & Performing Arts Librarian and Archivist

Dr. Judy Loney Silva, Associate Professor, is Slippery Rock University’s Fine & Performing Arts Librarian, University Archivist, and Special Collections Librarian. Her research interests include teaching with primary sources, historical empathy, and art repatriation. Silva is a member of the Art Libraries Society of North America, the Society of American Archivists, and the Rare Books & Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

Dr. Alessia Zanin-Yost - Health Sciences Librarian

Alessia is the health sciences librarian and teaches LIBR 110. Her research interests include health information, information/media/visual literacy, assessment, intercultural and health communication, and faculty/librarians collaborations. She has presented nationally and internationally on these topics. Alessia is a Senior Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals from the Medical Library Association.
