Write Concisely

When writing an annotation, you have a limited number of words to use, therefore, you need to write clearly, concisely, and without colloquialism. 

Things to Consider

  • Evaluates the authority and credibility of the author(s)
  • Determine the strengths and weaknesses of the information
  • Critiques the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the information
  • Compares or contrast this work with others you have selected
  • Evaluates the methods, conclusions/findings
  • Evaluate the resources used to write this information
  • Explain how the information supports or contradicts your research question
  • Explain how this information will be used in your research
